Lakeshore Technical College is losing one of its longest-serving executives.
Vice President of Student Success Polly Abts has announced that after 31 years at the college, she is retiring.
Abts moved to Wisconsin in 1990 and began working at Lakeshore as the college’s business and marketing receptionist the same year.
Over the years, she obtained roles in recruitment, admissions, and workforce development, all while juggling work and family.
Abts said of her time at the college, “I made a solid choice to work at Lakeshore because I wanted to help others discover and realize their potential. I lived out that choice with no regrets.”
Lakeshore President Dr. Paul Carlsen said that Abts has been a “key to our college’s success and will be missed, though we wish her a long and happy retirement.”
