A former teacher in Two Rivers is in legal trouble after he allegedly attacked a middle school student.
49-year-old Paul Gehrke has been charged with Child Abuse Recklessly Causing Harm and Disorderly Conduct for the incident on October 22nd.
Police looked over security camera footage from L.B. Clarke Middle School and reported seeing Gehrke standing in the doorway of his room and reaching for something in the room.
He walked back in, and when he reemerged, he was said to be dragging a child by his sweatshirt.
He eventually let the child go near some lockers, which is when he was heard yelling at the child.
The child told police that he was watching videos on his computer after being denied a trip to the bathroom, which instigated the outburst.
Gehrke has since been fired by the Two Rivers Public School District, and charges were filed on Tuesday (December 19th).
He is free on a $1,500 recognizance bond and is due back in court on February 1st for a status conference.
