It’s no small feat racing an outhouse, but the custom has taken root in Wisconsin.
And it will be repeated this coming February at the Smiling Moose, located in Osman.
The event is sponsored by Lakeshore Foster Families and Friends, a nonprofit organization supporting children in foster and kinship care.
Over 300 people attended last year’s event to watch contestants sailing over the frozen ground in homemade porta potties.
Racers build their own vehicles atop skis, and each is required to have a “driver” inside the structure.
The event will be on Saturday, February 24th, from 11:30 to 3:30 and will include food, drinks, raffles, and family fun.
It is the largest fundraiser of the year for Lakeshore Foster Families and Friends.
