The Better Business Bureau is giving tips to make sure packages you order online make it to your house without issues.
Jim Temmer with the BBB says you’ll want to be careful of texting scams.
Someone will send a text looking like it’s from a company that’s sending you a package saying you can track it when, in reality, they are swiping personal information.
Temmer says if you want to track your package, go to the website where you ordered it and look there.
Another tip, although it will cost a little extra, is to get insurance for expensive packages like electronics.
Temmer says you could also require a signature.
“Now again, you have to pay, but that means the delivery service can’t just drop it and leave,” he explains. “They have to get a signature from a real person on your doorstep to drop off the package.”
He also says to make sure to report any suspicious activity like seeing a vehicle slowly driving up and down the street because they could be looking for packages left out in the open.
Temmer also recommends making sure the package hasn’t been tampered with once you get it.
