The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection opened applications for the 2024 Specialty Crop Block Grants till February 27th, 2024.
Projects that include the competitiveness of specialty crop industries via research, education, or market development are eligible.
DATCP welcomes applications from non-profit organizations, producer groups, government agencies, universities, and other agricultural organizations. Collaborations or partnerships are also welcome.
The most qualified projects will be chosen through a competitive review process, and those chosen projects will be included in Wisconsin’s state plan for USDA approval and funding.
The grant funds can be used for up to three years, with typical projects receiving $10,000 to $100,000.
Eligible expenses include personnel compensation, consultant services, materials, and supplies.
Selected project contracts and related work will commence in December of 2024 once funding is received.
