There’s a new Seehafer News podcast focusing on the NFL and Wisconsin sports.
On the Line with hosts Evan Smith, a former center for the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Ryan Brahm with Seehafer News and Sports will discuss everything from the Packers to local football around Manitowoc County and other sports too.
Smith and Brahm coach the offense for the Manitowoc Lincoln Ships, so Smith has been coming into the studios to give his one-minute take on the Packers, but after the mic was off, the conversation kept going.
“We had enough time and enough words and basically, he was like ‘Dude, let’s do a podcast,'” Smith explained. “Sometimes we end up talking for 30 minutes, sometimes 40. But just like he had a couple of questions, and I had a lot of information on a few parts of it, but he approached me with it, and I was like, ‘Sure. ‘Why not?’”
He says because football is a year-round sport, there should always be something to talk about, and because of his sports management studies, he might be able to give better details about different teams’ decisions.
The Super Bowl winner says people who want to get into football will learn from the podcast.
“So if you’re a young aspiring football player, I will be dropping knowledge as to what things you should be looking for and you should be doing if you want to a college athlete and have the dreams or hopes to play in the NFL,” he said.
Brahm says he’s looking forward to the offseason as there are a lot of fun shows in the works.
“We’re going to get in contact with a couple of people to talk about local sports stuff,” he explained. “(Evan) is big into disc golf; we’re going to talk about that. And even potentially get some Packer legends on, some that he may have just kind of trickling around his phone.”
The podcast is posted every Tuesday at noon and can be found in the sports section of SeehaferNews.com.
The duo also has a Facebook page where listeners can submit questions and engage in conversations about the show.
