The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of those involved in two fatal crashes late last month.
Sheriff Dan Hartwig says that 19-year-old Michael Murphy of Sheboygan was traveling alone southbound on I-43 and County Highway XX on December 26th when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a guardrail.
He proceeded to enter the west ditch and strike a tree. Meanwhile, 56-year-old John Schneider of Green Bay was traveling alone northbound on I-43 and The Manitowoc River on December 28th when his vehicle entered the median, struck the guardrail between the northbound and southbound lanes, and proceeded down the steep embankment.
His truck came to rest along the south side of The Manitowoc River.
