Hundreds of people at one of Johnsonville’s plants in Sheboygan County will be out of a job by the end of the year.
The company said it was closing its Meadowside plant in Sheboygan Falls yesterday (January 3rd).
Currently, 390 people work at the plant, and Johnsonville thinks they will keep their jobs through at least June.
Johnsonville says the plant is closing because the company bought another packer, Salm Partners.
There is no word on when the plant will close, but the company says workers will be given stay-on bonuses to work until June, and Johnsonville will try to find jobs at other plants for the workers at Meadowside.
