The City of Two Rivers is increasing the cost of garbage stickers.
The price is being raised from $2.50 to $3.00.
The change follows budget discussions for the City’s Solid Waste Utility, with both City staff and City Council agreeing on the change.
The current stickers will be for sale through January 31st and may be used through Friday, March 1st.
The new stickers will be the only stickers for purchase starting February 1st.
The increased cost of weekly collection services and landfilling were “major contributors” to the increase in the sticker fee.
Any old $2.50 stickers that are leftover after March 1st can be turned in to City Hall for a new sticker credit.
This is the first increase in the fee since 2009.
