The L.B Clarke Middle School in Two Rivers new addition projects are moving along well.
The entire project includes putting on two additions to the middle school.
CG Schmid Company Project Engineer Bryan Kaiser says the company is working on building a new gym right now.
Because of the warm weather, the project has been going quickly.
“We have precast panels stood up now and those came up in about 10 days, so it’s very very quick construction and really makes a big impact,” he described. “So we’re going to be standing up those last panels in the next couple of days.”
Middle School Principal Tim Wester says he’s seen how quickly the project is moving.
He says within the next month the new gym addition could be connected to the school.
“We’re constantly kind of in flux with what we need to be doing to keep things moving along,” he explained. “We haven’t been affected too much in the building but that going to be starting, we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to keep everything along and stay on or ahead of schedule.”
Wester also says the students are getting involved with the project by participating in an activity called Ask the Builders, where students ask Kaiser questions about the project.
The project was approved through a $38 million referendum in 2022.
There will also be improvements at Two Rivers High School, Koenig Elementary School, and Magee Elementary School.
The first part of the projects should be done by next school year.
