Farm Aid recently revealed that the Wisconsin Farmers Union is among the beneficiaries of the year-end grants.
The union was granted funds by Farm Aid to bolster unity between farmers and laborers, foster coalition building, and propagate shared experiences amid the rise of corporate monopolies in the food and farming industry.
In 2023, Farm Aid distributed grants exceeding $1.3 million.
The organization favored grant applications from the entities that promote solutions to climate change led by farmers, which was the main theme of the annual Farm Aid Festival.
They also gave priority to organizations that assist family farmers in crisis, promote racial fairness in farming and resist the increasing dominance of industrial and corporate entities in agriculture.
