A not guilty because of mental disease or defect plea from a Manitowoc man seems to be the plea he wants to stick with.
37-year-old Ryan King was back in Judge Jerilyn Dietz’s courtroom Tuesday morning (January 9th) for a status conference.
Back in January, he was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
A new status conference was set for March 6th after his lawyer asked for more time.
King allegedly stabbed his cousin in 2022 because his cousin insulted him.
He denied it saying he was upset but didn’t stab anyone.
King has been charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon, and two counts of false imprisonment.
