A man who has been helping keep the Kiel area safe for nearly 50 years is hanging up his helmet.
First Assistant Chief Keith Raquet officially retired recently after 46 years of service to his community.
During his first quarter century in public service, Raquet was an EMS provider, and was a part of the first group of advanced EMT’s on the Kiel Fire Department.
In a post on Facebook, the Department praised the work of Chief Raquet, saying he has “always been a wealth of knowledge mechanically and could be found assisting with apparatus and equipment repairs. Additionally, he has served as a great mentor for all those who have come onto the Department.”
