A popular boat racing event is set to return to Sheboygan later this year.
The Mercury Racing Midwest Challenge is slated for August 9th through the 11th and will feature several classes of Powerboat P1 racers.
The racers hit Lake Michigan last year, pumping in an estimated $4.7 million in economic activity into the area.
Sheboygan is in good company hosting this event, as other cities on the tour include Cocoa Beach, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg, all of which are in Florida, granting credence to Sheboygan’s nickname, “The Malibu of the Midwest.”
