With the first winter storm moving through the weekend in eastern Wisconsin, snowplow crews weren’t the only ones working long hours.
There were several reports of crashes that caused some havoc on the roads.
On Friday afternoon, when the snowstorm moved in, a crash caused I-43 from Highway 151 North to be closed for a short time because of a crash.
The Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center reported a closure of 10 to 11 hours on I-43 northbound for semi-truck removal after the Highway 42 exit until the Manitowoc County line.
There was also a tow ban in effect for stranded vehicles because of the strength of the storm. According to the National Weather Service, between 8 and 12 inches of snow fell through most of Manitowoc County, with some areas getting a little more depending on where you live.
A lot of Sheboygan County saw more than a foot of snow.
As of this morning, the focus is on the temperatures because highs will only be in the single digits today (January 15th) and tomorrow.
And with steady winds from 10-15 mph, a wind chill advisor is in effect.
