James “Jim” W. Wester, age 70 of Branch, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County.
Jim was born on November 11, 1953 in Manitowoc, son of the late William and Dorothy (Holly) Wester. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1972 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Jim owned and operated Wis Dry Ice Blasting LLC. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Viking Bow and Gun Club and the Reedsville Sportsman Club.
Jim is survived by his wife: Cheryl Gamble, Branch; six children: Steven (Christine) Wester, Manitowoc, Heidi Wester, CA, Patricia (Richard) Schaefer, MI, Jason (Kim) Gamble, Newton, Jonathan (Reba) Gamble, Shoto, Jeremiah (Allison) Gamble, Oshkosh; fourteen grandchildren: Alyssa, Taylor, Kasey, Sierra, Kaitlynn, Morgan, Ethan, Evan, Kelsey, Shaelyn, Collin, Charles, Grant, Lucy; two sisters: Julie (Charles) Rohrer, Two Rivers, Kathy (Michael) King, AZ; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Thomas (Cathy) Luckow, Fond du Lac, Denise (Ron) Mohr, Cascade, Doreen (Marty) Bessert, St. Nazianz, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Dorothy Wester; stepfather: Robert Krause.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Lakeshore Life Celebration Center, 3613 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the Lakeshore Life Celebration Center on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.
