A 32-year-old man was arrested last Sunday (January 14th) following a report of a suspected retail theft at Manitowoc’s Walmart.
Around 2:40 p.m. that afternoon, a man entered the store, placing $20 worth of items in his cart.
The man then pushed the cart past all registers, leaving with the unpaid merchandise.
Later that day, around 8:00 p.m., the man returned to the shop, where police arrived as he was exiting the store.
The man was questioned and denied that he was the one who had stolen earlier, though he drove in the same car as the man who had and had a similar face covering in his pocket.
He is currently being held at the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Misdemeanor Retail Theft, as well as Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and Felony Bail Jumping for prior cases.
