With the weather warming back up again, the City of Manitowoc is making sure the streets are ready for it.
Crews will be out clearing side streets and inlet sewer drains in Manitowoc to avoid flooding from the melted snow.
Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels tells Seehafer News that there are some things the community can do to help our local DPW crews.
“One thing we ask citizens is if you can clear out those areas on your streets, it will be beneficial to you,” he said. “Also, just a reminder to clear out fire hydrants. That is the homeowner’s responsibility. If there’s something that happens, you’re going to be the one that benefits most from those being cleared out.”
Mayor Nickels also stated that the crews will be doing everything they can to help ensure the sewer system doesn’t get backed up and the roads don’t get flooded as a result.
