A cold case in Polk County will remain open.
A judge has refused to dismiss the homicide of Yvonne Menke, who was shot and killed outside of her apartment in St. Croix Falls in 1985.
Mary Bailey is believed to be responsible for the killing, with investigators saying that the two women were dating the same man.
Bailey requested the case be dropped, as no evidence has been produced that ties her to the case.
She is still in the Polk County Jail on a $300,000 cash bond and is due back in court in March.
