MANITOWOC-Pamela Clare (Parmeter) Larson, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 18,2024, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center Milwaukee, WI. She was born May 26, 1947, in Wisconsin Rapids, daughter of the late Herbert and lla (Olia) Parmeter.
We are devastated at the loss of our Beloved Mother, she was everything to us! She loved us so deeply and dedicated her life to raising her 3 children by herself. When life was hard, we stuck together. We never doubted that she loved us every minute and would do anything to pull us through the many hard times. Many years she worked three jobs to care for us all. We always had enough. She raised three strong children that she loved to brag about and that was her proudest accomplishment!
Pam attended Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids. She worked for Job Service in Wisconsin Rapids as the first Dislocated Worker Specialist for 14 years; then in Manitowoc as a Refugee Specialist, where she was the first Case Manager. She was also employed at JC Penny in the Jewelry Department. Pam enjoyed her 14 years at Kwik Trip as a team member, where she met many new people and developed lifelong friendships. After retiring (for 3 days), she decided to work at St. Vincent de Paul as a Case Manager.
Pam, never wanting to sit still for too long, volunteered for many local organizations. Gumby’s Club Fore a Cure Golf Outing, a fundraiser to help families affected by cancer; a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army every year; fundraiser for the Strong Kids Campaign for the YMCA; and volunteered to bartend for the Capitol Civic Center events. She was also very proud of her ground breaking instrumental work in Wisconsin Rapids for the Share and Care Christmas Program for dislocated workers, which provided a Christmas meal and gifts for families in need.
Pam found time for all of her hobbies. She loved golfing in the Ladies Golf League, camping with family, and was an avid Packers fan. Pam loved Monday night cards and meeting with the neighbors every day at the mailroom. She especially loved watching her 8 grandchildren at their sporting events and spending time with her family. She was very proud to be a Great grandparent to 7 “Greats”; and she loved each one dearly. Every visit, phone call, Facetime, text, Snapchat, and Facebook post were a treasure to her and she always noted it with a “Like” to everything. She was always there for a hug, laugh, and keeping you on your toes. Pam was always SASSY and had a comeback for everything.
She is survived by one son and two daughters: Troy (Sonja) Reynolds, Tracy (Chris) Brunner, and Tami (Scott) Kelnhofer. Grandchildren: Whitney (Bradley) Sonnenburg, SGT Raissa (Jorge) Reyes, USMC, Matthew (Tera) Brunner, Mason (Hayden) Brunner, Christine Brunner, Clare (Andrew Erbstoesser) Kelnhofer and Chloe Kelnhofer. Pam also has seven great-grandchildren: Carter, Levi, Everett, Tatum, Mateo, Evelyn and Ernest. She is further survived by her sister Jill (Keith) Witt; as well as her nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, her twin brother, Patrick (Judy) Parmeter and her sister, Karen (Victor) Romanski.
