There will be more security measures coming to the third floor of Two Rivers City Hall.
City Manager Greg Buckley says his office, economic development, and the city attorney’s office are the only offices people can come to without passing some kind of security checkpoint
A sliding glass door would be installed around the offices before people could enter.
Buckley says while it’s necessary, he doesn’t like to do this and would rather allow residents to be able to come in and out freely, but with the way the US is right now, security measures need to happen.
Police Chief Ben Meinnert says about four or five people over the last few years have caused some incidents, and there are growing concerns about people with restraining orders who are calling, too.
Deputy City Clerk Lisa Kuehn says she’s also in favor of the project because since she started working for the public, over the past three years, there have been some times she’s been in a scary incident.
The project would cost about $6,000 and would be done in the next few months.
