In Madison, a man stands accused of assaulting an elderly individual over the past weekend.
Law enforcement officials responded to an incident on Sunday near Wisconsin Avenue and West Mifflin Street, where it was reported that a man en route to a nearby pharmacy was attacked by a stranger who began hitting and kicking him.
Later in the day, officers apprehended the suspect in the 2800 block of East Washington Avenue at the East Towne Shopping Center.
The individual, identified as Joshua Berkahn, resisted arrest and is now facing charges of battery against an elderly person along with resisting arrest.
