Nancy Kay Berres of Manitowoc entered into eternal life peacefully surrounded by her family at Aurora Healthcare Medical Center on February 6, 2024. She was 83 years old.
Nancy was born on April 6th, 1940 to the late Earl and Olive Schmitt in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. In 1958 she married Roy Berres and together they had 5 children.
Nancy was an alumnus of Port Washington High School. She was dedicated to serving her community and donated her time to the annual Salmon Derby, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Manitowoc, and fund-raising activities for the city of Manitowoc.
A dedicated Green Bay Packer fan through and through Nancy never missed a game with her family and friends. Nancy relished spending time with her family during holiday gatherings, and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, card games with dear friends, community bingo, and hosting community and family fish boils. Her loving ladle of family gathering creations; hot tamales, drumstick torte, seafood pasta salad, and German potato salad will always be remembered.
Nancy is survived by her siblings; Gary (Sue) Schmitt, Fond du Lac, Dennis (Sheila) Schmitt, Manitowoc, William Schmitt, Milwaukee, Mary Ann (Robert) Meyer, Appleton. Her children; Terry Berres, Seattle, Washington, Debbie (Dale) Hubbartt, Kiel, Wisconsin, Dean (Katrina) Berres, Morris, Illinois, Tina (Jeff) Heinzen, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, David (Rozzlyn) Berres, Wilmington, North Carolina, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and her fiancé Jerry Bauer.
She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Olive Schmitt, brother Thomas Schmitt, and spouse Roy Berres.
Respected loving wishes, Nancy will not have a memorial service. A private burial will take place at a later date.
