The Northeastern Wisconsin Area Health Education Center has a new location.
The group held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their new office on York Street in downtown Manitowoc.
Executive Director Kari Mueller thanked her staff for their help in creating the office.
“They have been here weekends painting,” she said. “We have been moving, and we have done a barrage of things to make this happen today (February 8th).”
The group’s goal is to connect students to healthcare careers, professionals to communities, and communities to better health through partnerships with academic and community organizations.
Mueller says a lot of their work is happening in Sheboygan and Manitowoc Counties.
“That is working with our secondary to provide opportunities at the high school level and then looking post-secondary,” she explained.
“So, once our youth and young adults get into the healthcare field is to provide them professional opportunities to continue to advance in their schooling and then eventually in their career.”
Muller says the organization is very excited to move forward and start to work with coalitions across the state but also locally in Manitowoc.
