The Ashwaubenon Community Pool will be hosting the 10th annual SeaPerch competition today (February 17th), with twenty middle school teams in Wisconsin participating.
These teams will compete with their own underwater ROVs, which they’ve constructed themselves, sponsored by organizations like the NEW Manufacturing Alliances, North Coast Manufacturing Alliance, Fincantieri Marine Group, Cruisers Yachts, Einstein Project, and the Navy League.
SeaPerch is an education initiative designed to engage students with maritime careers by using a curriculum that weaves STEM principles into practical learning experiences.
The alliances have historically provided schools with complimentary kits to enable their participation.
The two most successful teams will advance to the International SeaPerch Challenge, scheduled for May 31st and June 1st in Maryland.
