The 44th annual convention of the Wisconsin FFA Alumni & Supporters organization took place on February 2nd and 3rd previously this month at the KI Convention Center and Hyatt Regency in Green Bay.
With the theme “Creating Connection in 2024”, the convention aimed to foster networking, resource sharing, and training opportunities while ensuring a fun-filled experience.
Approximately 300 members and guests from various parts of Wisconsin attended this year’s event.
The convention commenced on Friday with a state council meeting, followed by an optimal tour of the Green Bay West agriculture department, Lambeau Field, and Hinterland Brewery.
An exciting addition to this year’s convention was two “make and take” activities, where guests had the chance to create a glass art succulent dish or a wooden flower wall hanging.
The evening events on Friday included a dinner buffet, an auction, and lively entertainment by Dueling DJs Dan & Ruby. Saturday featured business meetings, workshops, and a special recognition program luncheon honoring past state FFA officers and state council leaders.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear from leaders of other organizations that are a part of Ag Ed.
The annual financial report and budget were presented during the business meeting, and the election for Vice President took place a week later, resulting in Chris Blank of the Cashton FFA Alumni & Supporters chapter being elected.
The remaining executive team members, including Grant Staszak as President, Nick Lowe as President-Elect, and Bobbie Jo Montgomery as Past-President-Elect, assumed their new positions.
Additionally, one bylaw change was adopted, and four resolutions were passed.
The 2023-24 Wisconsin FFA Officer Team played a crucial role in the convention’s operations.
They assisted with delegate registration for section meetings, facilitated auctions, managed the business meeting and election processes, and delivered a moving reflections program along with two workshops.
The team was also recognized for their collective lifetime membership.
Overall. The convention provided a platform for members to connect, learn, and celebrate the achievements of the Wisconsin FFA Alumni & Supporters organization.
