A Manitowoc man already facing charges in an abuse case has now been charged with another crime.
The 32-year-old man had his phone taken away after a girlfriend he’s accused of abusing said he had been looking at Facebook group pages of children, although at the time, nothing illegal was being done in the pictures.
Now, Manitowoc Police say the man’s phone contained an image of a young girl and two boys.
The image was in a cache file containing many other images from an undisclosed app but is described as a “premium online comic platform.”
When police looked at the app, which they described as “a site in Russia that looked like American Facebook,” they found contacts as well as other child abuse and child sexual abuse material.
There was a total of 190 contacts listed, and a majority of them involved the terms Lolita, children models. Etc.
The man has now been charged with one count of possession of child pornography along with other charges of simple battery and felony bail jumping in his abuse case, where he allegedly abused his girlfriend for seven years.
