It’s time again for one of the most unique events in Manitowoc County each year, the porta-potty races.
Lakeshore Foster Families and Friends is once again inviting everyone out to the Smiling Moose in Osmond on Saturday (February 24th), with racing beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Porta Potty racing, for the uninitiated, involves creatively designed portable toilets mounted on skis, transforming them into makeshift sleds.
These racing porta potties must have three sides and a seat, setting the stage for a variety of inventive design tactics.
The brave souls who piolet these quirky crafts do so with impressive resolve, even though the steering is out of their hands.
The real show and skill of coordination come from the teams, consisting of 3 to 5 individuals, who propel and navigate their makeshift sleds over a 30-yard dash to the finish line.
Witnessing an outhouse sprint is quite a spectacle, and anyone is welcome to attend.
