A 37-year-old Manitowoc woman appeared in court Monday afternoon for a bail hearing after being taken into custody for allegedly spam-calling the FBI.
Kayla M. Drews is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Possession of an Other Scheduled Drug.
Police responded to a residence in Phillippen Street last Saturday afternoon to conduct a welfare check on a woman (Drews) who had called the FBI tip line over 150 times that day.
Drews exited the residence upon officers’ arrival and began yelling at them and a neighbor, claiming he had killed her father.
It turned out that Drew’s father passed away recently, but she said she was going back inside and continue calling the FBI.
Officers found two Vyvanse pills on her person, and Drews was taken into custody without further incident.
She is free on $250 recognizance with conditions that she has “no assaultive or abusive” contact with the victim, does not possess any controlled substance, and maintains “absolute sobriety.”
Drew’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 21st at 10:30 a.m.
