A man has been arrested after a fight which started because a dog was trying to bite someone.
Manitowoc Police responded to a 911 hang-up call Wednesday night just before 11:00 p.m. and found a person who told them that when another man told the suspect to discipline the dog, they started yelling at each other using expletives.
The suspect then said that he would call his friend from Chicago to come and mess up or kill the other person.
The suspect and the other person started to wrestle.
While wrestling, the two fell down some stairs and broke a wall. The fighting then stopped, but the arguing continued into the backyard.
The suspect then grabbed a pair of scissors and ran toward the combatant.
However, they grabbed a black metal bat and hit the suspect.
The scissor-wielding suspect then went back into the backyard and continued yelling while the bat holder said he needed to leave.
The suspect then came at the instigator a second time with the scissors before the person fell, then heard the police and told the suspect to run and take the scissors.
The two men allegedly involved in the fight told police what the caller told them, except the instigator said he ran at the suspect with the bat first, and they came into the kitchen but separated.
The suspect also claimed self-defense when grabbing the scissors by the kitchen sink.
He was later arrested in Sheboygan at his mom’s house before being charged with battery causing great bodily harm, 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety, and disorderly conduct.
