Wisconsin’s Department of Corrections secretary is retiring, and a Brown County village still wants some action.
A statement from Allouez Village President Jim Rafter congratulates Secretary Kevin Carr after his 40 years of service to the state and thanks him for always listening to the village.
During his time at the Department of Corrections, he was always willing to hear arguments for closing the Green Bay facility, even if he disagreed.
Rafter continues saying that despite the DOC’s best efforts, the Green Bay Correctional Institute staffing issues have failed to improve for months and wants action from the state to close the facility as soon as possible.
Carr’s retirement announcement came from Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers’ Office.
