Grafting classes are being offered by Jeff Edgar, Silver Creek Nursery’s proprietor and Advisory Board member, on March 2nd at the West Propagation Center within the Arboretum. Attendees can join one of two available sessions at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
As the exclusive nurseryman permitted to harvest scion wood from a historically significant tree linked to John Chapman, famously known as Johnny Appleseed, Jeff produces the unique “Johnny Appleseed” trees for the Museum in Urbana, Ohio.
Participants for the event will be provided with all the necessary materials.
They will depart with the three potted grafted trees, including two from the Johnny Appleseed lineage and an additional apple or flowering crab tree.
The workshop fee is $135 per person, with a maximum of 6 individuals per class, ensuring a detailed learning experience.
