The next play for Manitowoc’s local theater group the Masquers is happening this week.
Ripcord tells the story of two women at an assisted living home whose personalities clash.
Director Claran LaViolette says Abby is a crabby woman who’s been in the room for four years, and no one who lived with her ever stayed.
That is until an upbeat and bubbly woman named Marilyn moves in and doesn’t want to leave, but she does want the bed by the window.
The two decided to make a bet to each get what they wanted, with Marilyn wanting the bed and Abby wanting Marilyn out of the room.
Their antics lead to their caretaker Scotty Marilyn and Abby’s kids getting involved intentionally and unintentionally.
This is the second production for the theater group in their 93rd continuous season.
Tickets are available at the Capitol Civic Center, but you can also get them online at cccshows.org or by calling 920-683-2184.
