Another prisoner has died at the Waupun Correctional Institution.
According to the Associated Press via WBAY TV, 62-year-old Donal Maier died on February 22nd.
He was given a 15-year prison sentence in 2012 for multiple counts of stalking but was charged in September 2022 for a Wood County homicide in a 1985 stabbing death.
Maier is now the fourth inmate to die at the institution since June of last year.
Three other deaths remain under investigation.
This comes as questions about conditions in the Waupun and Green Bay Correctional Facilities have come to light since last year.
Calls for closing the Green Bay facility have also been continuously made after the DCI Secretary announced his retirement.
