A 51-year-old Manitowoc man is free on $2,000 recognizance after being officially charged with his 4th OWI Offense.
Police say that a vehicle driven by Timothy W. Danforth nearly hit a vehicle head-on at the roundabout on the east side of Waldo Boulevard.
A witness says that Danforth went through the roundabout the wrong way, driving north on Memorial Drive on the wrong side of the road until he reached The Yacht Club.
Officers pulled him over at the Memorial Drive and Woodland Avenue intersection and said that Danforth had “slurred speech.”
He later admitted to having too much to drink and was taken to Holy Family Memorial Hospital for a blood draw, then to The County Jail without further incident.
No one was hurt.
The conditions of bail are that Danforth not operate any motor vehicle and maintain “absolute sobriety.”
His initial appearance is scheduled for June 17th.
