Wisconsin basketball fans will have plenty to cheer for this year in the March Madness tournament.
In the women’s bracket, the UW Green Bay Phoenix earned a spot after taking down Cleveland State in the Horizon League Championship, and enter the tournament as the 11th seed.
During Selection Sunday, the squad learned that they would be taking on the #6 seed, Tennessee, at 11:00 Saturday morning.
It may seem like a tall task, but the Phoenix already took down two ranked teams this year, specifically Creighton and Washington State.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s bracket, Marquette earned the two seed and will face #15, Western Kentucky at 1:00 this Friday.
The Golden Eagles have been relatively consistent this season compared to past years, where there was a significant drop-off at the tail end.
Lastly, the Wisconsin Badgers, who fell just short in the Big Ten Championship Sunday, still punched their ticket to the big dance.
The Big Red Machine earned a #5 seed after surprising many throughout the conference tournament with an upset win over Perdue.
The Badgers will be taking on the 12th-seeded James Madison Dukes out of Harrisonburg, Virginia, this Friday at 8:40 p.m.
