It has been just shy of six weeks since 3-year-old Elijah Vue disappeared in the City of Two Rivers, and details remain very scarce.
The history of Elijah’s mother, Katrina Baur, and the man who had last seen Elijah before his disappearance, Jesse Vang, has been very well documented over the past couple of weeks, but very little is known about what happened the morning of February 20th.
Vang told police that he last saw Elijah at 8:00 that morning when he brought the child into his room after bringing his teenage son to the bus.
Vang claims that he then took a nap, and when he woke up at 11:00, Elijah was gone.
Many have speculated on what may have happened, but the only concrete evidence reported by investigators came on March 18th, when the Two Rivers Police Department reported that a blanket belonging to Elijah was found on Goodwin Road, east of County Road B.
While the exact time the blanket was found was not specified, Seehafer News was on the scene of a heavy police presence on February 25th, just five days after the disappearance.
Since that last report, the Two Rivers Police Department has not given any additional updates as citizen search teams continue to look over other areas, but the number of people in those groups is beginning to dwindle.
The Amber Alert does remain in effect, and there are up to $25,000 in rewards for any information that leads to the finding of Elijah or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the disappearance.
