Improvements needed at the Manitowoc County Courthouse are one step closer to being made.
The County Board of Supervisors approved borrowing about $4.75 million to replace the courthouse’s HVAC system last week.
The county board wanted to complete this project and replace all the windows at the courthouse before work could be done on the dome.
Several supervisors have wanted the dome to be separated from the other projects because of the $24-26 million it’s going to cost for repairs to fix leaks along with other improvements.
The board didn’t have enough votes to borrow about $7.5 million for the first part of the projects late last year.
The HVAC system project will happen later this summer.
