The state of Wisconsin has approved a construction project on U.S. Highway 10 to build passing lanes in multiple rural municipalities in Manitowoc County.
The work, slated to begin May 6th, will add three-point-six miles of passing lanes on both the east and west lanes of the highway in Maple Grove, Franklin, Cato, and Rockland.
The project, headed by Vinton Construction of Manitowoc, will also include grading, gravel, and asphalt paving of the lanes.
The highway will remain open, and traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals. The estimated cost is $3.3 million, and it is expected to be completed sometime in September.
