Billy E. Wydick, age 84, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Billy was born on August 18, 1939 in Kentucky to the late Guy and Mary (McKinney) Wydick. After graduating from Lowery High School with the class of 1959, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served his country until his honorable discharge. On September 16, 1961, Billy married Janet Becker at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2022. After working as a car salesman for many years, Billy went on to work for Holy Family Memorial Medical Center transporting people and medications. He was an avid golfer and had scored 2 holes-in-one. Later in life, Branch Country Club became a second home to Billy where he had made numerous friends. He was a member of the Manitowoc Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include Billy’s three daughters, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Schleis, Holmen; Linda (Allan) Halla, Brussels; and Michele (Jeffrey) MacDonald, Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Dayna, Bradey, Justin, Kristin, Robert, and David; seven great grandchildren; brother, Bob (Tammy) Wydick; sister, Deanna (Richard) Johnson; also nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Mary Wydick; wife, Janet; and two brothers, Guy T. Wydick and Jerry (Judy) Wydick.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 88 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home immediately following the funeral service. A luncheon for family and friends will then be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
