Seehafer News was able to get an exclusive interview with former President Donald Trump ahead of his rally in Green Bay on election day.
The presumptive nominee for the Republican Party in the November Presidential Election spoke highly about the City of Green Bay, recalling how well he has done in Wisconsin through previous elections.
“We have tremendous support,” he said. “The level of support has been incredible, all over the country now. The support has been fantastic, and it’s really a great honor. It really is. The rally is going to be very big tomorrow. It’s going to be great.”
We asked Mr. Trump about his plans to support military veterans in throughout the country, and he said he wants to reinstate a couple of things that he had in place when he first held the office.
“I got rid of two things,” he explained. “Number one, I got rid of the sadists. I had legislation passed where we were able to fire people, because they had no right to fire people. We fired like 10,000 really bad people that were treating our veterans badly.
He also said, “The other thing was if somebody waited, they were waiting in line three or four months to have something simple. Sometimes, they would become terminally ill because they couldn’t get something fixed in the early stages. I said, anything more than 24 hours, you go to a private doctor, we pay the bill. I got that approved by Congress.”
He touted his roughly 92% approval rating for his work with the VA, something he said “nobody thought was possible.”
Former President Trump also spoke about how he wanted to help those in the agriculture industry, something he did the last time he was in the White House.
“Number one, I got $28 billion from China that went to our farmers, and Wisconsin was a big factor in that,” he said. “Number two, I got a trade deal with China…that was $50 billion in product.”
We also asked the former president if he planned on stopping somewhere to get some world-famous Wisconsin cheese curds, to which he said, “I think I might. We generally tend to do it. And by the way, it’s my kinda food anyway.”
