Sheldon H. Krueger, age 86, of Manitowoc, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Sheldon was born on January 26, 1938 in the town of Newton, son of the late Edwin and Elenora (Haupt) Krueger. He was a 1956 graduate of Valders High School. Sheldon farmed for thirty years and then worked for the town of Newton for 27 years. For 57 years, he also played in various local area polka bands, including one known as the Kingsmen. He played tuba and trombone and at times the piano and keyboard. Sheldon was the co-founder of Mid Lakes Rustic Iron and for 30 years a member of the Newton Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Liberty.
Survivors include his seven children: Shelly (Larry) Stock, Twp-Newton, Bonnie (Dennis) Gordon, Twp-Liberty, Susan (Red) Hackmann, Manitowoc, Julie (Jeff) Hartman, Twp-Newton, Kathi (Brian) Pritzl, De Pere, Peggy (Jeff) Kadow, Manitowoc, Rick (Sara) Krueger, Twp-Liberty; sixteen grandchildren; Twenty-Three Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edwin and Elenora Krueger; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Gloria (Floyd) Luebke, Pearl (Edward) Ansorge; the mothers of his children: Ione Haupt and Janice Krueger.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 11303 Wehausen Road, town of Liberty. Rev. Daniel Foelske will officiate with burial to follow in the Knollwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the church from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am.
