One of Two Rivers’ main thoroughfares is undergoing a “complete overhaul.”
City Manager Greg Buckley says reconstruction on Roosevelt Street, near Memorial Drive, began about two weeks ago.
“Most of the pavement on that street has been removed,” he revealed. “Temporary water services have been established for properties in that area. This is going to be an all-construction season project.”
Buckley adds a major intersection of the estimated $3.2 million project is being expedited through relatively quickly.
“We hope to get the intersection of Roosevelt and 12th streets buttoned up in May rather than having that being graveled all summer,” he explained. “That’s really a nexus for a lot of utilities and that is being worked on right now.”
Approximately 50 lead water service laterals are being replaced in that location.
The Two Rivers City Manager says the city is also in the process of going out to bid for another 200 lead water replacement laterals at various scattered locations around the city.
