The defendant in the 2022 Apple River stabbing case, took the stand yesterday, asserting that he acted in self-defense.
Nicolae Miu recounted his version of events, stating that he was attempting to evade harassment from a group of teenagers and ended up in a confrontation in the river.
The altercation resulted in the death of one teen and injuries to four others.
Prosecutors raised questions about Miu’s possession of a knife while purportedly snorkeling for a lost phone.
