Lillian B. (Kratz) Mangin, age 82, of Manitowoc passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at her residence in Manitowoc.
Lillian was born on May 29, 1941 in Wrightstown, daughter of the late Fred and Lena (De Grand) Kratz. She attended Reedsville High School. On June 17, 1959 Lillian married George B. Mangin Sr. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1986. She worked for various companies in the Manitowoc area. Lillian was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Lillian was well known for her bakery talents such as her kolaches.
Survivors include her five children: Janell (Thomas) Schad, Collins, Marlene Mangin, Manitowoc, Lori (Eugene) Bauknecht, Reedsville, George (Nancy) Mangin Jr. Manitowoc, Charles “Scrap Iron” Mangin, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Jason Schad, Jeremy Schad, Christine Bauknecht-Larsen, Ashley Mangin and special friend Bob Wisniewski, Ben Mangin, Jessica Mangin (Nick Schroeder), Brittany Mangin and special friend Garrison Andrison; one step-grandson: Jon (Cathy) Schad; six great-grandchildren: Garrett Larsen, Brevet Larsen Jr., twins: Aaliyah and Devonte Hall, Braeden Wisniewski, Brynlee Wisniewski; two sisters: Bernice Behnke, Brillion, Evelyn Loose, Chilton; one brother and sister-in-law: Norbert (Barb) Kratz, Brillion; special Dog: Molly Jo Mangin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Lena Kratz; her husband: George B. Mangin Sr.; two sons: John Mangin, Tom Mangin; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Paul and Margaret Mangin; three sisters: Helen Kratz, Lucille Gronke, La Vern Kangas; three brothers: Hank Kratz, Arthur Kratz, Ralph Kratz.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April, 18, 2024 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate with cremation to follow and burial of her cremated remains at the St. Patrick Cemetery in Maple Grove at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
