A lot of work needs to be done around the buildings in the Manitowoc Public School District.
A presentation from C.E.S.A 10 to the MPSD Board on Tuesday showed multiple schools need repairs and replacements due to age.
Washington Middle School and Lincoln High School were highlighted in the presentation with Washington needing about $28 million in repairs over the next 10 years while Lincoln would need about $47 million.
The other elementary schools would need about $58 million combined. Improvements would include equipment replacement and repair, along with building upgrades in several areas.
Before anything gets underway, the district would form an internal facilities advisory committee before getting an architectural partnership. Community outreach for the projects wouldn’t start until 2025.
Superintendent Jim Feil has discussed the facilities upgrade plan for the last several months.
