Rosann M. Jacobi, age 86, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, April 22, 2024.
Rosann was born on February 15, 1938 to Vernon and Lavina (Siggelkow) Doersch and raised on the family farm in the town of Centerville. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1956 and attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison for two years. On June 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Frederick (Fred) Jacobi at St. John – St. Peters Lutheran Church in Cleveland WI.
Rosann was proud of her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed supporting their musical, dance, athletic, and 4-H events. As her children grew up and were off to school, Rosann became a teacher’s aide at Jackson Elementary School and a home health aide in Manitowoc. She was active in Jazzercise and had a great time playing bridge with friends.
For Rosann, “making a house a home” was truly an understatement. She was a very talented cook, baker, and seamstress. She took great care with holiday preparations, sewing clothes for herself and the children, crafting handmade items for her grandchildren, even creating the draperies throughout the home. Along with Fred, she was always glad to entertain family and friends. Rosann took great pleasure in tending and maintaining her flower gardens.
Rosann was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving faithfully with the Alter Guild and teaching Sunday School for many years. She especially enjoyed her time as part of the Handbell Choir.
Together, Fred and Rosann enjoyed attending many concerts and theatre productions at the Capitol Civic Centre.
Rosann is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, Frederick; four children, Martin (Teri) Jacobi of Fitchburg WI, Steven Jacobi of Shorewood WI, Susan (Tim) German of Hartford WI, and Katherine (Matt) Borchardt of Manitowoc WI, fourteen grandchildren: Lorena (Jose Montes), Amaria, Camryn, Isaias, and Julio Jacobi; Alec, Miranda (Ricky) Martinson, and Sydney Jacobi; John, Nicholas, and Luke German; Meghan, Lauren, and Erin Borchardt; and four great-grandchildren, Penelope and Natalia Montes, Kingston Daniels, and Paul Martinson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Caroline Doersch of Middleton WI, as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Doersch.
