This week was National Small Business Week.
It celebrates the uniqueness of small businesses in all communities and how they support the local economy.
A proclamation from Governor Tony Evers says support for small businesses helps support family-sustaining jobs in the Badger State, while preserving the unique character of local communities.
Cities, including Green Bay, recognized the week by having a Business Walk event on Wednesday that helped volunteers visit, survey, and engage with local businesses.
At the national level, the US Small Business Association held their annual Small Business Week Awards with two groups earning awards.
SCORE Southeast Wisconsin in Milwaukee, which helps get small businesses started, won for Chapter of the Year while Eric Rupert, Sam McDaniel, and Jessica Benish won for Small Businessperson’s of the Year.
