An 18-year-old from Brown County is facing charges after he allegedly shot a 16-year-old who egged his house.
According to NBC26, Jackson Rego was sitting in his car in the driveway of his Pittsfield home, located just northwest of Green Bay, when he heard the eggs hitting his home.
The vehicle involved drove away but turned around, which is when Rego claimed to have fired a “warning shot” from an AR-15 in the direction of the vehicle.
Rego claimed to have fired at the ground and didn’t realize anyone was hit.
The 16-year-old was said to have been hit in the ribs as he was standing through the sunroof of the car.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene with armored vehicles and took Rego into custody without further incident.
Rego has been charged with 1st Degree Reckless Injury and 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, each with Use of a Dangerous Weapon, as well as Endangering Safety with the Reckless Use of a Firearm.
His bond was set at $100,000 cash.
