A runner with the Manitowoc Lutheran track and field team broke a record that has stood since 1983.
Junior Gabe Stuebs ran the 400m dash in 50.54 seconds at the Big East Conference Championships in Mishicot, not only claiming the conference title in the event but also breaking Jim Lorenz’s 41-year-old record.
Additionally, Jacob Kanzenbach re-set his school record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.15 while finishing second.
As a team, the Lancer boys and girls both finished 3rd, with Oostburg taking the boy’s crown and St. Mary Catholic winning the girl’s meet.
